Passage: Nehemiah 9:1-38
"The theme of their prayer is confession, it's repentance in a humble way, and then praise and worship to God. They're saying, 'This is what I did, this is what I sinned in. But, this God, is how You responded.' And it speaks of God's grace and mercy. This prayer is a sign of the most powerful thing that can happen in the body of Christ, that can happen in every life - revival! The church at large, individually and corporately, needs revival. What does that mean? Revival means to return to life and to return to a conscience. When you start to realize that you had a tradition of walking in worldly ways, when you start to go, 'Wait a minute, I'm not supposed to live this way, I'm not supposed to think this way, I'm not supposed to be unloving the way I am, I'm not supposed to be self-centered and selfish.' That's where revival can happen, and that's what's happening in this scripture."
