Passage: John 13:1-17
Jesus shows up preparing himself - and remember, 10 hours from now He is going to be betrayed, and insulted, and shamed, and have his hair pulled out, and beaten to His almost-death, and dragged and hung on a cross where He would suffocate. 10 hours from now. And Jesus is not worried about Himself. He knows He is going to the cross. He knows He is going to be the Lamb of the world. And He is going to die for these dirty-feet men who don't get it. Think about that. Think about what you were doing yesterday. Think about what you were doing two hours ago. Today we sang "Jesus, Be the Center." Saying that and praying that and asking God to be the center of our lives, does that translate to what we were thinking an hour ago, yesterday, last week? Is He the center, or are we distracted by our selfish ambitions and our jealousy? The motives and the hearts of the disciples are off!
