"Paul and Silas discerned that there was a plan for their suffering. And God had a great purpose for it. And God, through the Holy Spirit, gave them the power, strength, and self control to stay within the pain and the suffering because God had a purpose for it. But why did the other prisoners stay? This is the power that is unleashed to the unsaved world when we as believers sing through the pain; when we die to self, die to having our own way, die to being comfortable. The Lord was allowing this and there was a reason. The other prisoners stayed because they looked at Paul and Silas and their example faith, and they recognized that only a God of faithful men like that could cause the ground to shake and open the doors of the prison. And they don't want to run from that! And that's the same reaction you'll get when you're getting attacked and you don't move, and you let God move them!"
